ADB – Stoned Soul Picnic

Hosted by:

Adrian Burrowes aka DJ ADB, has lived a lifetime of music, ever since he started DJing at parties amongst his peers from the age of twelve.

He officially started his radio career on Starpoint Radio in the autumn of 1987. After meeting with Carl Webster and Chris Philips (Jazz FM, Kiss FM and Choice FM), at the now no longer Kisses nightclub, he submitted the required “demo tape”.

This demo tape was to become his first show, as management was so impressed by it became the start to begin his first “Official” show later that Autumn. That became his radio station home holding down a regular Friday and Saturday night for three years.

He eventually left Starpoint to join the newly formed FAME FM from 1989 until 1991 for two years, then took a radio Hiatus from1991 until 2008.

During this Hiatus, he played at a number of London venues, including Crazy Larry’s in Chelsea (Chris Philips and Wilber Wilberforce), and the ION Bar (1999 to 2002) in Ladbroke Grove,

He also “played the ‘platters that matter’ at The Pub Continental Wandsworth Rd, as a resident dj playing the weekend slot alongside long time friend and godfather to his youngest daughter Chris Philips for two years.

In 2009 ADB joined Colourful Radio, where he had a weekly show, starting Thursday Midnight until 2am, after having done the all important slot of Saturday 7pm until 10pm

Adrian is really excited to be joining the Raw Soul Radio Live family, having been a friend of Elijah Hall since 2009, meeting at the colourful radio studios, where Elijah started filling in as a regular guest presenter, when he revealed he was a Dj and station director from Bang radio and preparing to leave in pursuit of a more mature listening audience.

It was then ADB encouraged Elijah to accept a regular Midnight to 2am from Gordon Mac on a permanent basis, which turned into 10pm until Midnight.

ADB plays out most notably at The White Lion Streatham on a regularly basis under the moniker of DÉJÀ VU, a quarterly night that not only plays quality music, but is used to promote Sister DJ’s giving them a platform to show their skills.

He’s also the founder of Bad Boogie Productions, founded since 2002, used to promote club nights as well as dabbling in production work, something that he is hoping to develop further in the forthcoming years.

ADB will be bringing his long established “Stoned Soul Picnic”
